KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. KNOWLEDGE SHARED IS POWER MULTIPLIED.
December 2021
Hello,

Welcome to the last issue of the 2Know newsletter of 2021. What a year it was! Just as we thought we had gained the upper hand of the pandemics, COVID19 is making an unwelcome comeback. The movie "Don't Look Up" is a comical reflection of what's happening in our country - divided in our opinions, choices, and actions. Ultimately we are all suffering from the consequences.

It feels a cliche to use the word "mindfulness" because of the over usage and misusage of the word. In my opinion, mindfulness is turning inward - noticing one's own thoughts, exploring the drivers behind those thoughts, understanding and setting our intentions, and deciding whether we will act on those thoughts.

Thoughtfulness is an outward act of compassion, empathy, and care. The intention behind the kindness of words or acts is to provide a service to others or make others feel better. It is not self-serving.

Mindfulness can help us be more aware of our thoughts and the feelings triggered by those thoughts. To practice mindfulness is to pay attention to our thoughts, examine the drivers or situations behind those thoughts, and decide what to do about those thoughts. Mindfulness can help us be more intentional and responsible.

Thoughtfulness can help cultivate a better relationship with others. To be thoughtful is to put others in our thoughts and take action to serve others.

It is a challenging time. Let's all be a little more mindful and thoughtful. Let's be curious about our thoughts and make meaningful connections with others. Let's better ourselves and contribute to our society.

We wish you a bright, safe, and healthy 2022!

Happy New Year!
