WBJC is ending our fiscal year on a high note!

We are thrilled to share the exciting news with you: thanks to your generosity, we have exceeded our annual fundraising goal of $1.2 million! Your support makes everything we do possible, and we are deeply grateful for your belief in the power of classical public radio. Whether you’ve been with us for years or just recently made your first gift, your contribution ensures that timeless music, thoughtful commentary, and meaningful connections remain accessible to everyone in our community.

This year, we were especially encouraged by the number of new donors who joined our family of supporters. If you are one of them—welcome! Your decision to support this station is already making a real difference. And to our longtime donors, thank you for continuing to sustain this service that means so much to so many.

Because of you, our station is not only meeting the moment—we’re growing stronger. Your generosity helps us bring classical music to new listeners, support local artists, and inspire people every day through the beauty of this art form. From all of us here, thank you for making this achievement possible. We are honored to have you as a partner in this mission.

Yours in gratitude,

Richard Miles

The visionary designer Claire McCardell on BookNotes

You know Claire McCardell through ballet flats, mix-and-match separates, pockets, zippers, leggings, and more, yet she remains the most influential fashion designer you’ve never heard of. Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson has set out to change that with her book, Claire McCardell: The Designer Who Set Women Free.
