Because Lutherans are on pilgrimage. Holy Week invites each one of us to journey with Jesus through the gates of Jerusalem, to eat with him and hear his commandment to love one another, to stay and watch with him in the garden, to accompany him on the way to Calvary, to be present at his death, and to dance for joy at his resurrection. Let this Holy Week be an invitation to set your countenance on Jerusalem and, like Jesus, to journey to the Passover feast. In community, let us experience the remembrance of God’s saving deeds and encounter firsthand the power of the crucified and risen Christ to save and heal us. We are better together.

WORSHIP AT EMANUEL'S

Sunday Worship at 10:30am is in the sanctuary, online on YouTube, and on radio KWED AM 1580.

Stream Good Friday service at Spirit of Joy here.

Easter Day, Year A

On Sunday we declare, "This is the day the Lord has made! Christ is risen, and through him all creation is made new!" Indeed, “God shows no partiality” (Acts 10:34): Christ’s resurrection truly brings life to everyone. We sing hymns of praise, gather around sacred words, and proclaim God’s faithfulness, power, and love in the feast of holy communion. With the women at the tomb, we are astonished, elated, and grateful. We depart with joy to proclaim the good news of God’s endless love.

FLOWERING OF THE CROSS

We will be flowering the cross on Easter morning. Please bring some fresh-cut blooms from your garden, the flower shop, or even HEB! The cross will be on the steps outside the church entrance. Before the service, add you blossoms where there’s space. We look forward to transforming that old wooden cross into a sign of blossoming grace and hope. May it become a sign for us!

BEING THE CHURCH

EGGAPALOOZA 2026 IS A WRAP!

Eggapalooza, Emanuel's fourth community-wide egg hunt with the Believe It Foundation and TLU Campus Ministries, was a HUGE success!!! Over 1500 people in our community participated. Kids of all abilities hunted 40,000 eggs, consumed hundreds of donuts and Kona Ices, played games, ran races, had their faces painted, were greeted with joy and energy, and gave back joy and energy. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality, organization, and generosity on a windy spring morning. Your support of this amazing outreach program, year over year, helps create meaningful and memorable experiences for everyone involved. Looking forward to Eggapalooza 2027!

COMPASS SUMMER FUNDRAISER

We have so many amazing programming opportunities for our youth this summer, but we need your help to accomplish them! Starting this Sunday and throughout the next several weeks, there is a large display in the narthex of envelopes labeled 1-150. If you feel called to do so, pick an envelope with a number that you would be willing to donate (Ex: if you could donate $72, pick envelope “72”). Fill out the form inside of the envelope, make the donation, and drop the envelope in the box! As a thank you for donating, you are invited to join us at the end of the summer for a special dinner served by the youth where we will show pictures, videos, and hear stories about the summer programs! Not only will you be investing in our programming, but in the faith formation of our youth. Thanks so much for your support of the Compass Cooperative ministry! Have any questions? Reach out to Hannah Hansen at hannah@elcseguin.org.
