If you want to stay after, there will be a pot luck

If you are not familiar with her work – here’s her website - https://www.carolmilne.com/

Here’s a snippet from Carol’s bio:

Carol is the lone pioneer in the field of knitted glass. Pushing the limits of her material through persistent and relentless experimentation. Determined to combine her passion for knitting with her love for cast glass sculpture, she developed a variation of the lost wax casting process to cast knitted work in glass.

AGASC to Fund an Award for Glass

At the San Diego County Fair

The AGASC will be funding a special award of $100 at the San Diego County Fair. It will be in the Glass Category (Class 032 - Other 3D not listed). The Fine Art competitive exhibit is now open and accepting entries through Monday, April 28, at 8 PM. You can enter your art for the

Tier 1 judging at Exhibition of Fine Art.

UCSD Craft Center Glass Art Event

Several members were able to attend this event on February 21st at the new Craft Center. It is exciting to see the Craft Center coming back to life in its beautiful new building. It was streaming live so we could get a close up view of the amazing hot glass process.

Art Glass Association Annual Exhibition 2024

The annual members show was a great success and we want to thank Krista and

Ilana for organizing the event and food. The judges this year were Kazuki Takizawa, Betsy Lane and Crista Matteson. Thank you to all of our members who helped paint, install and work during the show. This is a great opportunity for our new artists who have not previously shown their work. Gallery 21 in Spanish Village is well lit and a very professional venue with lots of local visitors and vacationers in San Diego.

AGASC New Years Party

The Annual party for the AGASC was held on Jan 4th at Krista Herons home in LaJolla. The theme this year was "Walk like an Egyptian". There were so many Farrohs and other crazy fun costumes that made it another year to remember. Krista provided a wonderful dinner and had a fabulous background for photos. There was a white elephant gift exchange and lots of stealing! If you did not make it, you missed a great time.

Mentors for Newer Members Available

Several of our more experienced Artists have volunteered to help new members in glass art techniques, applying to shows or galleries and networking in the glass world. If you have an interest in having someone help guide you in learning or you want to volunteer as a mentor

contact Diana Griffin at queenieglass@gmail.com.
