The Radiographer's Role

Radiographers play a crucial role in raising awareness of domestic violence by identifying patterns of recurrent or unexplained injuries on imaging, which can indicate ongoing abuse. Recognizing these specific patterns, radiographers can prompt further investigation and referral to support services, acting as frontline healthcare professionals in detecting and addressing domestic violence to prevent further harm.
