Join the call and find out how it all fits together.
There's activism in the air.
An International WILPF Congress in Ghana in August, a center for the Pan African Movement.
Our Hiroshima Remembrance Solidarity Events are planned across WILPF US.
The Poor People's Campaign prepares to launch next steps, after their initial 40 Days of Action.
Activists are confronting our nation's palpable systemic racism by forming a broad coalition.
Immigration activists are focusing on the connection between US Policy in Central America and the flight of innocents to sanctuary they seek in the US.
The rest of the world is insisting that the US close many of our Foreign Bases.
Coalitions of US progressives are calling for a reallocation of budgets towards a People's Agenda and away from the obscene overstuffed Military budget.
Our July ONE WILPF Call will connect WILPF to:
- The work of Martin Luther King
- The Pan African Movement, the historical significance of Ghana
- The old and new Poor People's Campaign
- A November CLOSE THE US MILITARY BASES conference in Ireland.
We'll refer to an article by Nancy Price in WILPF's upcoming Peace & Freedom magazine.
We'll focus on how it's all connected and where WILPF can be more engaged on the front lines.
It's all about building a feminist peace agenda. And YOU can be part of the next steps strategy.
Nancy Price
will set the stage, and invited speaker
Maurice Carney
from the
Black Alliance for Peace
(partner in the Poor People's Campaign
)
will bring context and history to the discussion. There will be lots of opportunities for questions from members too.
