Pool Repairs

From Kevin Welsh, President, EE HOA Board

The EE Board of Directors conducted a Special Meeting on Sunday, May 12. The Board and Homeowner attendees were shown the progress being made on the pool renovation and also shown the condition of the rails for the pool cover (corroded) and the spa (pitted and cracked) after drainage.

The meeting was called to order after a quorum was reached. The proposals from Coverstar for $1650 (rails) and Pro Plaster for $6,360 (spa) were reviewed and discussed. Additionally, a request to authorize no more than $1,000 for additional concrete work in front of the storage lockers was also discussed. A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously approved to authorize the work. This will be added to the Capital Project and be paid out of Reserves.

Thanks for the pool picture, Adrienne Lowe

Next EE HOA Board Meeting

The regularly scheduled monthly EE HOA Board Meeting will be Monday, May 20, 1 pm, at the Ramada. All homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Neighborhood News

Again, Cinco de Mayo Was A Festive Hit!!

From Debbie Ries

Thank you to all of you who came out to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the Ramada on May 5th! We had a crowd of over 100 people, and the dishes that were shared were truly amazing.

Special thanks to all of the Hospitality Committee members who came out and worked hard to get this event organized, decorated and cleaned up. We couldn't hold events without all the MUCH APPRECIATED help.

Please watch the MMM for our 4th of July event at the Ramada

This will be the last Hospitality event until the Fall.

Thanks for the pictures, John Nesavich and Deb Ries.

More Contributions for the "Rock Monkey" Pathway Project!

From Tom Aigner

Another thank you, this time to Helen Doepel. Not only has she donated some gorgeous flowering plants, but also the commitment of maintaining them during this upcoming Summer. And, hopefully, for years to come. We all understand the need to keep the plants "of the desert variety," but it is nice to have some colors along our path as well.

Thank you Helen!

Snake Alert!

Source: Green Valley News, May 4, 2024

Snakes are especially active now. Please be alert and keep a lookout for rattlesnakes. Esperanza Estates' residents have reported several sightings. For rattlesnake removal please call the Fire Department #520-629-9200.

The Green Valley News recently reported the following:

The Green Valley Fire District has been getting five to eight calls a day from residents who want them removed. "When the weather starts warming up they start coming out pretty quick. They're hungry and their food is getting more active, too," GVFD spokesman L.T. Pratt said.

"If you're like most people and want to get out into your yard to trim bushes and clear dead leaves, Pratt said to make sure you're aware of your surroundings. "They can use that as cover so don't reach under anything unless you can see there," Pratt said. Snakes also like wood piles and clippings, he warned.

Another word of warning: "Don't leave your garage open because as it cools off at night they'll want to find a warmer home," Pratt said.

If you get bit, call 911. Fire crews can quickly determine which hospitals have antivenom on hand. Once you call 911, Pratt said you should also keep an eye on the snake from a safe distance so the OSTs or Fire Corps members know where it is upon arrival.

Caring Connections

Pull Tab Donations

From Lynn Theder

Thanks to everyone who has been saving their pull tabs. I dropped off our saved pull tabs last week at Sahuarita Intermediate School, which includes 3rd to 5th grades. The office staff was happy to see me with our tabs donation and said the tabs would go to the school library for their activities. Please continue to bring your pull tabs to the collection can at the Ramada. It's amazing how something as small as pull tabs from cans can make a difference and provide needed resources for a school.
