Volunteers for Black Canyon City Heritage Park Winterfest Saturday, January 30th
Black Canyon City Heritage Park will hold their Winterfest celebration on Saturday January 30th from 10 to 2. We always have a PAS information table set up that needs volunteers. In addition, this year, we'd like to offer a Bird Sit by the pond. While people will most likely spend only 5 or 10 minutes with us, it's a great opportunity to introduce them to birding. Would you be able to join that day? If you don't want to spend the full 4 hours, we could shorten the time to two-hour shifts. Let me know, it's always fun. If you have a scope that would be great to bring. For information and to volunteer

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the AZFO Annual Conference this year. It was truly an experience that I will never forget. I would also like to thank Tice Supplee, Karen LaFrance, and Adam Stein for encouraging me to apply for this scholarship and attend the conference, and the Prescott Audubon Society for sponsoring my scholarship. I would also like to thank everyone who made the conference possible, from the venue to all the volunteers and members of AZFO. Putting on and organizing an entire conference is a lot of work - so truly thank you for all you guys do! Read the complete article: AZFO Scholarship 2026 - Prescott Audubon Society
| | PAS Birding in Odd Fellows Cemetery | | |
By Samantha Jordan On Saturday, October 24, Prescott Audubon hosted a birding and history walk through both the 124-year-old Odd Fellows Cemetery and Acker Park.
Participants identified many birds that call the park and cemetery home, including Western Bluebirds, Pine Siskins, Cassin's Finches and Northern Flickers while discovering stories about Prescott pioneers such as Sam Hill, James S. Acker, and Thomas Gibson Barlow-Massicks.

Everyone is welcome to the next PAS Board Meeting on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 4:00 PM in The Lookout Conference Room.
West Granite Creek Park
The Prescott City Council will be voting on a parking plan for West Granite Creek Park on Tuesday, November 3. There is concern about a city proposed plan that may allow vehicle access into the park crossing pedestrian/bike paths. If you are interested in preserving this beautiful riparian area, please send a brief note to City Council members and Parks and Recreation Department stating you prefer park users to utilize the existing paved parking lots nearby. More information can be found at https://www.prescottbikeped.com/ under West Granite Creek Park Restoration.
