The Tolerance Jesus Will Not Tolerate
Kevin DeYoung writes on Sunday’s passage. Jesus praises the church in Thyatira for its love, faith, service, and endurance, and then he names the problem: it let a false teacher lead people into idolatry and sexual sin. DeYoung shows why that compromise felt reasonable, with trade guild feasts and people’s livelihoods on the line. He also makes the case that love without discernment is not the love Jesus commends.

Saturday, November 14 · New Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM · Meet at the Church
Rake and Run
Our annual Rake and Run is back. We’ll head out to rake leaves for elderly neighbors in the Mayfield community, share the gospel, and pray with the people we serve. We wrap up at 1:00 with lunch back at the church. The later start means men can come to the Men’s Breakfast first.
Bring a rake with your last name on it and a pair of gloves. Dress in warm layers: you’ll start out cold and warm up once you’re working. Coffee and hot chocolate are ready in the morning. Please sign up by Friday, November 13 so we know how much lunch to make.
