TIP OF THE MONTH

📢 Protect Your Money from Debt Collection & Financial Scams! 💰🚫

Scammers often pose as debt collectors to pressure you into making payments you don’t owe. Stay alert with these key tips:

✅ Verify the Debt – Ask for written validation before paying anything. Legitimate collectors must provide details.

🚨 Watch for Red Flags – Threats, urgency, and requests for unusual payment methods (gift cards, wire transfers) are warning signs.

🔍 Know Your Rights – The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) protects you from harassment and false claims.

📞 Don’t Share Personal Info – If unsure, hang up and contact the creditor directly.

🛡 Report Suspicious Activity – File a complaint with the Consumer Financial

Protection Bureau (CFPB) or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
