As we try various formats for valuable and fun networking events, I want to say a special thanks to the creative and savvy pros @Mixology Rye Brook who hosted our November program with several members + friends in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center! Thank you Jackie Fodiman, Bree Brossman, and your Mix team.

Participants got to sip, shop, get stretched (StretchLab), have an eyebrow consult (Hott Salon), find cool home gifts (SBG Home & Design) and sports-fitness gear (Sportech). We even got to meet the new manager of The Wine Cellar!

As we kick-off December, it is so neat to see all the acts of generosity to benefit people and organizations happening right in our communities. Fundraisers, toy drives, nutrition support, and much more... Our Chamber honors these and wants to help make sure everyone knows what is available.

Choosing to shop, use professional and household services, dine, and seek entertainment locally is an important way to invest in building strong local economic bones. My positive holiday (and every day) challenge: can you commit to shifting one or more of your intended online purchases to a local business?

Angel Tree Program

This week you can still contribute to the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. This will serve about 350 local children. Businesses, community groups, individuals can sponsor a child (or multiple kids) by donating for an "Angel Tag" that lists a child's first name, clothing sizes, and a toy wish.

Their goal is to have all gifts collected by the end of this week @ 36 Bush Avenue in PC. To request tags, contact Captain Stephanie Morales via (717) 639-6250 or stephanie.morales@use.salvationarmy.org.

Toy Drive

The Port Chester Police Association and Target in the Gateway Shopping Center have teamed up for a toy drive on Dec. 13. This, and the Angel Tags, are great giving opportunities your organization can do on behalf of your employees.
