His career exemplifies a commitment to creating a vibrant educational community that encourages initiative, creativity, and well-being. He values a supportive school culture that fosters caring relationships between adults and young people. David is a leader of exceptional integrity, respect and accomplishment. The Board and the Search Committee are confident he has the vision and drive to lead the entire St. Joseph community into the future.
In this age of acceleration, St. Joseph High School flourishes because we build upon our commitment to mission, our faith-based vision, and our community values. We are agile, open to change, and focused on high performance and the future. David demonstrates the reflective leadership essential to a high performing Catholic college prep school.
A graduate of the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, David is also a proud alum of the University of Scranton, a nationally recognized Catholic and Jesuit University. At Scranton University, David earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education (Mathematics) and a Master’s in Education Administration. He also holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Executive Leadership.
“I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary opportunity, and for the trust and confidence of St. Joseph High School’s Board of Directors. The school’s commitment to creating a community where young men and women can grow in faith and build for themselves responsible lives of service and leadership is highly regarded in Connecticut. I realize it is the work of many generations, and I look forward to helping steward and deepen this unwavering commitment. Patricia and I are honored and excited to join this exceptional community.”
David and his wife Patricia, a retired elementary school teacher, are devout Catholics. Their two daughters are proud alumnae of Providence College.
David’s appointment is the result of an extensive search led by a committee comprised of Board members, administration, faculty, and the broader community. The search committee’s goals in defining our next leader were shaped by the survey in which many of you participated. The search was facilitated by Carney, Sandoe & Associates. I wish to thank all who participated.
We have found a President who will honor St. Joseph High School’s traditions and high standards for academics, service, and personal responsibility. As we prepare for this transition, we look forward to a dynamic school year under Dr Fitzgerald’s continued stewardship. We will announce plans to introduce David to the school community as his official start date draws closer. Meanwhile, the members of the Search Committee, the Board of Directors, and Bishop Caggiano are thrilled to welcome David and his family to St. Joseph High School.
Sincerely,
