This Week's Thursday Market Vendors

The Mississippi Farmers Market has extended its operating hours for Thursdays from 9am-1pm for the summer to allow shoppers more opportunities to purchase fresh, local produce and other agricultural products direct from our Mississippi farmers.

This is in addition to its year-round operating hours of Saturdays from 8am-1pm.

What's Fresh Recipe

Did you know eggplants are related to potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers? While it's common to lump eggplants in with vegetables they are actually considered a fruit. Enjoy this week's What's Fresh recipe the Italian way with Mississippi Farmers Market produce!

Farms across the state can differ in size, commodity, and production, but the one thing they all have in common is that each one plays an important role in agriculture - the leading contributor to the state's economy with an $8.76 billion of production in 2023.
