RESERVOIR RUN PLANNING KICK-OFF MEETING
This past Monday, September 14, 2026 was the kickoff meeting for the 15th annual Reservoir Run , bringing together key volunteers to discuss planning and assignments for the Sunday, October 25 race.
Harry Spencer, Lance Mald and Glenn Van Deusen led the discussion, covering various work streams including water stations, cones, signage, food coordination, and T-shirt and medal distribution. The team addressed staffing needs across six water stations, with Steve Thomas confirming he would handle the half marathon water tables, while Marty would manage the 5K station.
Key decisions included ordering long-sleeve shirts for both half and 5K participants, having signs go up on Friday, October 23, before the race, and implementing a truck to follow the last runner to collect race assets. The group also discussed food sourcing through local stores, social media promotion through school communications, and the Kids' Fun Run being sponsored and run by Sarah Holland Sports.
| Participating in the meeting were: Dave Burns, Frank Ferrara, Glenn Van Deusen, Harry Falber, Harry Spencer, Jacqueline Torres, Marty Schaivone, Phyllis Gary, Sarge Carlson, Steve Thomas, Tim Rogers, and Tom Johnson. | | | | |

Last Saturday, Kiwanis members erected a canopy to protect Homecoming Sunday worshipers from the rain expected for the following day. Workers included Tim Rogers, Dave Burns, Frank Ferrara, Dan Gilbert, Steve Haas, and Steve Thomas. Norfield Congregational Church is the perennial hosts of Kiwanis Club of Weston meetings.
Norfielder Susan Moran penned this appreciation to President Harry Saturday afternoon:
Hello Harry -
Please pass along our deepest gratitude and appreciation for lending your Kiwanis team to help put up the tent for Norfield Church’s Annual Homecoming Sunday.
I got there at 10am and the work was already done.
Many, many thanks -
Susan Moran

FAIRFIELD KIWANIAN ELECTED DISTRICT GOVERNOR
Delegates from the Kiwanis New England and Bermuda District clubs elected The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield's Karl Uzcategui as governor for the 2026/2027 year beginning October 1, 2026 at the 108th annual district convention on August 15, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Leominster, Massachusetts.
In a contested election between two qualified candidates from our own division, Karl bested Kiwanis Club of Milford's 2025/2026 president Patrick Tokarz (aka Melt) . The good news is that Patrick will serve as our Division 17 Lieutenant Governor for 2026/2027, succeeding Cindy Perham.
