Badger DECA members excel at Wisconsin DECA State Career Development Conference
Thirty-five students from Badger High School competed at the Wisconsin DECA State Career Development Conference on February 24- 26th. DECA members traveled to Grand Geneva Resort to compete in 28 occupational series events and prepare written project presentations. Over 1,500 students from Wisconsin participated in this conference.
Twenty-two of those Badger DECA members were recognized on stage by earning medals in either their 100-question cluster test, one of the two role-play events in their event category, or a top ten finalist medal. Our chapter members captured 39 individual medals. Fifteen members earned a champion medal for placing first through tenth place in their event.
A highlight of the conference was junior Christian Polkow being elected to represent the Wisconsin DECA delegation (over 10,000 members) as he was chosen to serve as one of six State Vice President next year.

Placement Testing
Placement testing registration for students admitted for the Summer or Fall 2025 will begin mid-March. You will need to register for placement test dates ahead of time. Placement tests take place in spring and summer. For more information about placement tests and campus-specific requirements, please visit the UW HELP website:

Direct Admit
Direct Admit Wisconsin is an initiative by the Universities of Wisconsin to proactively offer admission to qualifying high school students in between their junior and senior years of high school. Direct admission removes the traditional application process and instead uses data provided by the high school to admit students to universities.
You may be wondering, how can I be eligible to be a part of this Direct Admit Program? Well, you must be enrolled in a participating school district and opt to participate in the program. Then, if you are on track to complete the credits required for admission – 4 units of English, 3 units of approved math, 3 units of social science, 3 units of natural science, and 4 additional academic units – you will receive an admission offer through Direct Admit Wisconsin. Each participating UW university has its own GPA and course requirements. Students are matched with participating UW universities using progress towards graduation, whether they are on track to complete the required credits for admission to the Universities of Wisconsin and their unweighted cumulative GPA. Check the Direct Admit website to view participating Wisconsin Universities and gather more information! https://www.wisconsin.edu/direct-admissions/
