FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR

Be Consistent

Consistency in the Christian faith is of great importance. It is much easier to begin a project than it is to end it. In following Jesus Christ, we are not to look back but to continue keeping our eyes on Jesus. “Run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1–2).

Consistency in worshiping in the house of God is sometimes lacking in followers of Christ; some give the impression that worshiping in the house of the Lord on Sundays is optional. This is not honoring to the Lord, and not conducive to living a consistent Christian life. How can we say we love Jesus Christ if we do not love the Body of Christ? Scripture is clear that we are not to neglect meeting together (Hebrews 10:24–25).

We are also to be consistent in our giving, which is part of our worship. In the Old Testament, worshipers brought an animal or produce to the Lord. This demonstrated their consistency in worship and their self-sacrifice. They gave the best they had to the Lord. The apostle Paul exhorts us to present our bodies “as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is our spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1).

So keep your eyes on Jesus; keep enduring. Be consistent!
