Welcome to Redeemer Life!
|
|
With the JOY of Easter still reverberating throughout our halls -- we want to take a moment to thank YOU for joining us on the journey to the cross. It was a truly powerful, emotion-packed week. From Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, to the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday, to Jesus' death on the cross on Good Friday, to the irrepressible HOPE and JOY of Jesus' Resurrection on Easter.
Making it all the more wonderful is the fact we were able to share the Good News of the Gospel with YOU and people all around the country.
In addition to the 500 people who celebrated with us here in the Worship Center (it was SO fun seeing your smiling faces after so many months of worshiping at home!), we had another 200+ households worshiping with us online from every corner of the United States.
This said Easter is not a one-day event for Christians. It is a season. A 50-day period that begins at sunset on the eve of Easter and ends on Pentecost, the day we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and birth of the Christian Church.
"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."
-- Acts 2:1-4
This extended season of Easter gives us time to rejoice and experience what it means when we say, "Christ is Risen." A time to reflect on how we are to live as faithful disciples of Christ.
As we look forward and think about living out the Word and healing ministry of Jesus Christ -- as His disciples -- we must consider how we can best share the Gospel beyond Redeemer's four walls. As Pastor Dave reminds us frequently, the Gospel travels on the platform of relationships.
Redeemer's Visioning Initiative
Our Easter numbers reinforce the WHY behind Redeemer’s Visioning Initiative. Why the time is now. AND why Redeemer’s mission to live out the word and healing ministry of Jesus is so needed in this community.
As we continue to bring YOU behind the scenes into Redeemer's visioning work, our goals are to inspire you to ask questions, encourage you to get involved and of course, dream BIG about the possibilities.
In today's visioning segment we sit down with Clyde Haase, Due Diligence Task Force lead and Chuck Stocker, Existing Facilities Task force lead to learn why they believe God has called them to serve as active participants in this next phase of Redeemer's history. This is the third video in our series. Next week, you'll be hearing from two other task force participants, Bill DeRue and Laura Neidhold.
Please enjoy our candid conversations with Clyde and Chuck.
|
|
Thank you, Clyde and Chuck for your service and your heartfelt insights. And thank you to Daniel Baker for your expert videography skills, helping us bring our visioning story to life.
As always, we'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to submit your updates, stories, questions, photos, and videos to our Director of Marketing & Communications, Susan Baldwin at sbaldwin@redeemeralive.org. If appropriate and with your permission, we'll feature them here and/or on our social media channels.

Happy Friday Friends...
What an AMAZING Easter Week!
-
250 Easter Egg Hunt Kits went out into our community.
-
150 Easter Breakfasts-To-Go went home with our members and guests.
-
20 Soup Lunches were delivered to shut-ins on Maundy Thursday.
-
200+ Households from around the country and world joined us online for Worship.
-
500 People joined us HERE in the Worship Center.
So much to celebrate!
But Easter's not about the numbers.
It's about the names.
Jesus called Mary by name and it changed her life.
-- John 20:16-17
When Jesus calls us by name He calls us to rest with Him and to recreate with Him. Jesus calls us to new life.
Easter weekend brought me so much JOY to see YOU, in person, and call you by name.
My hope this Easter season is that each of you hear Jesus call you by name. And that the sound of your name upon His voice fills you with renewed life knowing that you are a loved child of God.
Easter Blessings,
~ Pastor Dave

Easter Week Praise & Highlights
|
|
We want to formally share a word of praise and thanks to everyone who contributed to our Holy Week activities both in front AND behind the scenes. As shared previously, the Gospel travels on the platform of relationships. You are such an important part of Redeemer's mission. Thank you...
Following are a few highlights from the week.
Thank You to Our Easter Bunnies
|
|
Thank you to everyone who brought JOY into the community by serving as Redeemer Easter Bunnies. Led by the Holy Spirit, 250 Easter Egg Hunt Kits filled with plastic eggs, candy and prizes were shared with friends, neighbors, and strangers.
No cost. No strings attached. We simply asked that you pray for the neighbor/friend you 'egged,' and consider other ways you might connect in the name of Jesus.
The stories we've heard from both the people hiding the eggs and the families who found them have been priceless. We encourage you to continue to share your stories, and if you've got pictures, please send them to Susan at sbaldwin@redeemeralive.org.
A BIG thank you to all of our volunteers who helped create the Egg Hunt Kits -- Barb, Rick, Mary, Carol, Emily, Robin, Sydney, Savannah, Tamara and Erica.
And an important reminder to those families who got 'egged,' you still have time to register your empty egg for a drawing to receive a prize valued at $100. You can register your egg at this link.
Saying YES to a Tradition -- Easter Brunch
|
|
While we weren't able to host a full brunch in our gym this year, we were able to say YES to our Easter Breakfast tradition thanks to the creativity of Marcia Tracht and her dedicated team of volunteers -- Caryl Haase, Pete Urlacher and Susan Hegney.
More than 150 Easter Breakfasts-To-Go went home with hungry church-goers on Easter morning. The breakfasts were also enjoyed -- and greatly appreciated -- by our Worship and Tech teams who arrived at Redeemer before sunrise. A welcome surprise and gift to all!
Sharing Soup & Comfort -- Maundy Thursday
|
|
Redeemer's Comfort Dog Ministry, led by Comfort Dog Isaac, brought Soup Lunches and a whole lot of love and comfort directly to our Senior members on Maundy Thursday. This year Maundy Thursday service was held online but we didn't let that stop us from enjoying fellowship and a meal with our most beloved members.
Thank you to Isaac and the whole Comfort Dog Team for finding a way to say YES to Soup and Fellowship. 20 lovingly packed meals were delivered on Maundy Thursday.
A Bright LIGHT in the Darkness
|
|
A special thank you to Ani Panattoni who brought our music and God's Word to life throughout Holy Week. We have been blessed by Ani's skills interpreting our music and sermons in American Sign Language over the past six months. Ani's hands literally dance before us. Easter Sunday was Ani's last official day serving as our interpreter. She is now moving on to the next stage of her career and we know Jesus is walking beside her. -- Ani, we hope you will come and visit frequently. You are a true JOY. God has big plans for you!
Thank You to ALL of Our Worship Volunteers
|
|
And finally but definitely not least, a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who made 7 services in 7 days possible. We couldn't do it without you!
When YOU enter the building the Holy Spirit is felt and Jesus shines brightly through your smiles, talents and gifts. Jesus calls you by name.
Special thanks to...

Kingdom Connection Weekend Experience
|
|
Our Weekend Experience provides a simple way for parents to help their kids connect with their faith, Jesus and Redeemer while worshiping at home.
The curriculum is updated weekly and designed for children ages preschool to 5th grade (preteen). Each age group has its own lessons and activities. Similarly, we provide Parent Guides to help you maximize the experience for your family.
|
|
(Click on the image above to experience this week's 4th-5th grade curriculum)
You'll also find Parent Cues to equip you with what you need to know when you need to know it. We even provide a free mobile app so you can access information anytime, anywhere. You'll find the app on our website. You can also download it here.
While the past year has been full of twists and turns, and a lot of unknowns, the one constant has been Jesus. He's helped guide Redeemer's Ministry Team allowing us to consistently find the YESES. Our KC Weekend Experience is one of those YESES.
Please contact Erica Barton (ebarton@redeemeralive.org) with questions about our Children's Ministry program.

Rite of Confirmation

Please mark your calendar for Sunday, May 16 if you or your child is in the 8th Grade and would like to participate in the Rite of Confirmation.
The Rite of Confirmation is a long running Rite of Passage in the Lutheran Church. It is a stepping stone of faith representing the day when a youth stands up, with their peers, and publicly confesses their belief in God (Father+Son+HolySpirit).
You will be receiving a letter, with details, from Maria Devenport, Minister of Youth & Families, next week. Please contact Maria directly with any questions -- mdevenport@redeemeralive.org.

|
|
Give-to-Give Sunday is on May 23rd this year! Please submit projects ideas and/or sign-up to volunteer at this link.
For those new to Redeemer, Give-to-Give Sunday is an awesome experience for all ages. It is a day when, as a Redeemer congregation, we 'do Church' out in the community. A morning of service -- living out the Word and healing presence of Jesus.
If you'd like to submit a service project, following are the criteria:
- the project serves a person or family outside of our Redeemer family
- the project can be completed by one or more volunteers in 3 hours or less
Projects to assist non-profit organizations are also welcome.
Please contact Doug Weinrich, Minister of Servant Leader Development, with any questions at dweinrich@redeemeralive.org or (509)926-6363.
p.s. If you personally need assistance, or know someone in our congregation who needs assistance, contact Doug and we'll get you assistance, just not on Give-to-Give Sunday.
|
|
Please join us for Shoshone Family Ranch Camp -- August 13-15. Doug Weinrich will be leading a group of families from Redeemer in a weekend of fun, FELLOWSHIP, and worship at Shoshone Mountain Retreat. Activities include horseback riding, river time, and a whole lot of GREAT food.
