Getting settled back into the school year routine can be stressful for both kids and parents. Getting back to bedtimes that may have gotten a little lax over the summer, trying to figure out carpools and bus schedules, extracurricular practices starting back up, figuring out how to do homework, fixing supper before 9:00 pm...all of this can be enough to put everyone in a cranky mood.

A recent
NPR article
has some helpful ideas, even though your kids may be back in the school routine already. Some kids will finally be settling in and some will now be coming out of the "honeymoon" period and experiencing discomfort that didn't show up at the start of school.
Hopefully, starting the new program year at church and with Children's Formation will be a blessing and a relief to you and your family! Children's Church with Eucharist kicks off this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and Children's Formation will have a welcome back party during the formation hour (10:20-11:05 a.m.). This will allow all parents to go to Ellis Hall for a Parish Forum to hear from our Children's and Youth Task Force about all the work we have accomplished since we received the Ministry Architects' report.
Please stop by our
Prayers for Teachers' Board
in the courtyard on your way into church to add your prayers for the folks that have accepted the call to share themselves with our children and youth as formation teachers. It takes a village and each villager has gifts to share!
It's not too late to join our
Volunteer Village
and step into ministry with our kids and into the your own Baptismal Covenant to "
proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ".
