THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON

October 1–5, 2025

Houston’s art scene is packed this week with community walks, book launches, new exhibitions, and one-night-only happenings.

From a wellness walk in Buffalo Bayou Park to major exhibition openings at the Moody Center for the Arts, The Health Museum, and Redbud Arts Center, there’s something for everyone.

Sculpture Month Houston kicks off at SITE Gallery, while intimate artist talks, glass and painting receptions, and even a DIY house show with music (The First of Failed Spells at Stinson House) bring the city’s creativity into full view.

And beyond Houston, I’m thrilled to share that Soy de Tejas: A Statewide Survey of Latinx Art—curated by San Antonio–born Rigoberto Luna—is opening this weekend at The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture in Riverside, California.

Featuring nearly 40 Latinx artists from across Texas (with more than ten from Houston), the exhibition marks its first presentation outside Texas and in a museum setting. I’m proud to have been instrumental in bringing this exhibition to The Cheech and to serve as one of its publicists.

Mark your calendars—October starts strong with art, music, wellness, and plenty of reasons to get out and connect.

Remember: even more events are waiting for you to see on my website.
