Hopkins Raspberry Festival - We need YOU!
Marketplace Booth - Sign-up Now!
It is almost that time of year for the highly anticipated Hopkins Raspberry Festival. Much fun was had last year during our inaugural participation in the Marketplace Fair and Grand Day Parade. We are at it again this year and hope you will come along for the ride!
The plan for this year is to participate in the Marketplace Fair with our St David’s Booth . It will all happen on Saturday, July 19th from 9 am until 4 pm. We will have an opportunity to faithfully innovate, living into our mission by participating in some radical hospitality with our neighbors. Once again, we will be offering up a place for rest, refreshment, and renewal for all fair goers traveling along Hopkins Mainstreet.
What will we have in our booth?
- Chairs to rest, and spritzer fans to cool off.
- Free Raspberry infused water and plain water for refreshment.
- A Gratitude activity for all ages to participate
- A furry friend station with water and yummy dog treats
- St David’s Information and conversation starters available for all booth workers
- Affirmation/Pride stickers available to all fairgoers
- Street chalk for all budding artists of any age!
- Parishioners, hopefully you, who will be a very important part of the booth…listening, getting to know our neighbors, being present, faithfully innovating!
We hope many will participate in this fun summer activity by working a “fly-by” 2-hour shift, including set up and take down opportunities. Sign up now in the Narthex on the clipboard provided next to the big Raspberry Festival poster.
Come along and live into St. David’s vision and mission. Questions, please contact me, Diane Curley, in person in the Narthex after church, or via email at dsbkncurley@gmail.com

This week - ICA Sunday: July 6th
This Sunday, July 6, is the first Sunday of the month and that means it’s ICA Sunday at St. David’s. Please consider donating items for the Kids’ Summer Market at ICA. This special section in the food shelf provides extra food for families with school-aged children during the summer months, when kids do not receive breakfast or lunch at school. The Kids’ Summer Market offers kid-friendly foods, where parents can choose foods that best match their family’s needs. See list of needs below.

The list above are just suggestions. Anything you wish to donate is always welcome. Bring your items to church this Sunday or drop them off at your convenience in one of the ICA baskets, located at the church entrances.
While food donations help bring in supplies for immediate use, a financial donation to ICA helps to ensure the shelves can be well stocked. A check made out to ICA can be dropped in the Sunday collection plate (on any Sunday). You can also go online at
www.icafoodshelf.org, choose Donate from the menu & follow the prompts.
Thank you for supporting ICA.
Birthday Bags Needed
As we celebrate the nation’s birthday this weekend, are you aware that many children in our community do not have any kind of birthday celebration, related to their families’ limited finances/resources? ICA’s birthday bag program gives our neighbors the opportunity to receive birthday bags for their children. The bags are generic and are given to families with school-aged children who have birthdays that particular month. Each bag should contain a baking tin, cake mix, frosting, candles, plates and napkins.
Please consider supporting this program by putting together a birthday bag or two, ready to be given to a family. As we get together with our families this summer, it can be a fun activity to put together a few bags with your children or grandchildren. Such an easy way to benefit local families not as fortunate as ours.
You can bring your birthday bags directly to ICA at 11588 K-Tel Drive or put them in the ICA baskets at the church entrances.
Our mission: To create a healthy and stable community for all
Our vision: A community where everyone has the resources to thrive
Our belief: ICA’s presence in our communities makes our neighborhoods more stable and secure
