As many of you may know, the founder of Deva Designs, and one of COVR's founding members and previous presidents, Micki Baumann, transitioned late last year. Her influence on the Mind, Body, Spirit industry is profound as one of very few women in the MBS vendor community at the start of her career. She left the software industry early on, and she and her husband John, an expert on the Sedona Vortices, decided to move to Sedona, Arizona.
Micki's career spanned more than forty years in the MBS marketplace and so many of her personally designed products are loved and sold worldwide. One of Micki’s iconic designs was her Comfort Goddess (pictured here), she would leave them all over the world, during her travels, for others to find and receive comfort. A mentor to so many business owners, especially women, she made it her mission in life to lift and encourage others.
Her daughter-in-law and other long-time friends remember:
"Many people have come to me and said, what a real pioneer Micki has been in the Mind, Body, Spirit industry—the only woman who was a vendor creating her own designs —such an inspiration to them. People have mentioned how generous she was with her time and expertise, and how much that meant to them. She was a mentor to many and an inspiration to so many others, and her creations through Deva Designs have touched people far and wide. It's a blessing to continue this work."

“Micki Baumann will always hold a special place in my heart. She taught me a great deal about doing business in our industry when Satiama Publishing was first starting out, but also when I became president of COVR. As a past president, she was one of several that spent a lot of time and effort to help me get quickly up to speed. She was unfailingly kind and generous, and truly ‘walked the walk’ as a successful and loving member of our Mind Body Spirit community.”

Founder + Owner, Satiama Publishing and Satiama Writers Resource
“One of my favorite memories of Micki was her generosity in sharing her favorite places in Sedona with me. She is one of the most loving and giving people I’ve ever known in my life.”
-Justin Durand
Owner Shining Lotus Bookstore, Denver, Past President, COVR
Micki’s last wish was to have all that knew and loved her to donate to the local humane society.
I do have one little, last tidbit to add. I unfortunately did not have the pleasure of meeting Micki, personally in life, and in researching and speaking about her with so many who loved her, I felt as if I got to know her. And, as fate would have it, during the writing of this article, the picture below kept opening itself up on the desktop of my computer, all by itself. It took me until the third opening, to get the message. Thank you Micki for introducing yourself and making be feel included in all who loved you. It seems her mentoring will continue on as usual...
