DUMC New to the Faith Class
Sundays, September 28 - October 26
10:00 - 11:00 am, Room 22
Donuts and coffee provided!
Are you new to the Christian faith—or have you been following Jesus for a while but feel the need to revisit the basics? If so, this class is for you!
Join us for a five-week journey exploring the foundational truths of Christianity in a welcoming, conversational setting. We’ll talk about who Jesus is, what it means to follow him, how to grow in your faith, and other key aspects of the Christian life. Whether you have questions, doubts, or simply want to strengthen your understanding, this is a great place to start.
Because worship is such an important part of following Jesus, we encourage everyone attending the class to also attend either the 9:00 am Uplifting Worship Service or the 11:11 Word & Worship Service. Experiencing worship together helps us grow in faith and connect with God in meaningful ways.
We’ll need at least five participants in order to hold the class, so if you’re interested, please let Pastor Paul know.
Come as you are, bring your questions, and let’s grow together!
If you are interested in being a part of the class or if you have questions, please email Pastor Paul.

Staff Snapshot:
Bethany Pocceschi
Many of DUMC’s dedicated staff work hard behind the scenes and may not be seen or known by many. We thought you might enjoy getting to know them better, and not just their job responsibilities, but who they really are. We feature different staff members over the year, giving you a little glimpse into what makes them tick, smile, and sometimes laugh and cry.
This month we feature Bethany Pocceschi, our 11:11 Worship Leader

Lay Leader Insights:
SUCCESS
You are living your faith, but to some people, you are a failure. You fail to measure success by the world's standards. You fail to go along with popular thinking. You are out of step with the world. Do you even know about Taylor Swift?
The world values money, possessions, status, and zip codes. Others see the outside while God looks at the heart.

September Mission of the Month:
DOYLESTOWN AREA FISH
| | | |
The Doylestown Area FISH is a 100% volunteer-run organization, so all the donations go directly to benefit their callers. Volunteers are educated in area resources and have working relationships with the organizations they refer to. All their funding comes from local sources: churches, individuals, and charitable organizations.
FISH provides services for unhoused and housing insecure individuals and families who live in the boundaries of the Central Bucks School District. They grant emergency shelter, emergency food aid, rental assistance, financial grants for utility bills, heating oil deliveries (100 gallons maximum), gasoline, and other bills associated directly with housing expenses. FISH receives calls seven days a week, between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Please support this great organization through the DUMC Mission of the Month.

THANK YOU!
Thank you for another great month. Your generosity packed 208 meals for CFF in 1 hour!
Thanks to all who contributed food and/or came to pack.
Karen Lyons brought leftover meatballs and sauce from Meatball Monday, and we packed 25 meals with meatballs, sauce, pasta, veggies, and applesauce. Thank you!
We used left-over hotdogs from the Peach Festival and packed 43 meals of hotdogs, baked beans, veggies, and applesauce or cornbread.
Our meal for the month was chicken parmesan, veggies, and applesauce. We packed 140 of these meals.
What a great team we have. They just kept packing as we came up with more and more food combinations!
Our next meal pack will be on Wednesday, October 15 at 12:45 pm. We will be packing ziti with meat sauce, mixed vegetables, and applesauce.
I look forward to seeing you all then.
Don't forget next week's Community Meal on Wednesday, September 24 at 6:00 pm. It is Chili Night. See the signup in the church lobby or SignUpGenius.
Best,
Cindy

Volunteer Opportunity - VITA EDUCATION SERVICES
Vita wants to start a program where its graduates can have practice conversations to further improve their English. The idea is that one or two volunteers would host a casual group discussion with several students, either in person or via remote video. The sessions would likely involve discussion questions such as, “What is your favorite food?” or “Tell us about your family?". The hope would be to do a session once per week or every other week, but if that is too much, you could trade off with a partner. The Vita coordinator, Kathy White, will train you and give you suggested discussion questions.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact Kathy White, (267) 905-6535 -or- Randy Hume.
Go do something!
