It is with gratitude for his service that the Lakeside Chautauqua Board of Directors announces that Kip Greenhill has resigned from his position as President/CEO of Lakeside, effective Friday, April 28.

Kip stepped into the President/CEO role in August 2021 with a vision to nurture the staff and community. Leading with deep compassion, he built a culture of belonging and understanding among the team and welcomed community engagement to make the best decisions for the organization. Lakeside is ready to begin its 150th Chautauqua season.

Kip shares, “I truly believe the best days of Lakeside are ahead of us because of the collegial and collaborative work of the team. I could not have been more fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such exceptional leaders. I would challenge almost any corporation to match the talents, output, creativity, passion, and dedication this whole team displays."

Under Kip's leadership and empowerment of the staff, Lakeside has expanded the shoulder season and initiated university partnerships to elevate the Chautauqua experience. The team has worked diligently to improve the guest experience by streamlining reservations and increasing cottage rental capacity. Kip actively engaged and involved the community and, as a result, increased the number of donors to the Lakeside Impact Fund, raising the highest level of generosity overall in a fiscal year. Lastly, Lakeside has executed cost reductions and revenue enhancements, which improved the financial strength for a thriving future.

"The Lakeside Association Board of Directors unanimously confirmed Charles Allen, Lakeside's current COO, Interim President/CEO. Charles is well prepared to lead Lakeside through this transition as interim CEO," stated Jane Anderson.

At Lakeside, Charles has paved the path for a quality guest experience in the hotels and cottage rentals, improved cleanliness across Lakeside, and is consistently setting procedures in place to help maintain our historic buildings and care for our streets. He collaborates with the Street and Drainage Advisory Task Force and the Land Management and Development Task Force. Throughout the last two years, he has been a key leader and partner with the Lakeside Board of Directors in the advancement of Lakeside.

"I look forward to building a bridge for the next generation of Lakeside by ensuring sound business practices, financial stability, and growth, and establishing Lakeside as a family vacation destination for all to enjoy for generations to come," says Charles. "I am excited to partner with Programming, Marketing, and Guest Services so that we can strengthen retreats and conferences in the shoulder seasons. We've already laid a strong foundation of procedures to care for our historic structures, grounds, and facilities and will continue to strengthen these moving forward. Lakeside has a strong staff, and it will be an honor to collaborate and empower them to help Lakeside advance."

The Lakeside Association Board and the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Board look forward to celebrating our Sesquicentennial Celebration. Charles Allen, the entire Lakeside team, and the Sesquicentennial Committee are preparing for an enriching 150th Chautauqua season. We look forward to welcoming you home to Lakeside.
