Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) — Identity Theft Innovation and Identity Theft Detection - The Office of Research, Applied Analytics & Statistics (RAAS) provides innovative approaches to address IRS challenges by using cutting-edge technology and advanced data analytics while leveraging public-private partnerships, improved collaboration with state tax agencies, the tax industry, and other stakeholders, to assist with identifying and combating fraud. The purpose of this requirement is to develop, test, deploy, and enhance IDT detection approaches for both individual and business tax return filings, as well as to support the ongoing collaboration with external partners in private industry and state taxation agencies.
In other data news, on June 28th, Department of State, Office of the Spokesperson, Secretary Blinken's Keynote Remarks published an article entitled Secretary Antony J. Blinken at “A Conversation on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at State”. Matthew Graviss, Chief Data and AI Officer of the Department of State, speaks with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modernizing American diplomacy. Secretary Blinken underscores AI’s pivotal role in enabling diplomatic staff to focus on strategic tasks, enhancing analysis, and combating disinformation; while also stressing the importance of responsible use, robust cybersecurity, and bias mitigation.
