Reminder: No Swimming in Reston’s Lakes

This week’s hot temperatures have us all looking for a place to cool off, but a reminder that swimming is prohibited in Reston's lakes and ponds. The lakes are designed for stormwater management and are not maintained or monitored for swimming. There are no lifeguards and often few people around during the daytime. Parents are reminded to discuss the hazards of lake swimming with their children. However, RA does have 15 swimming pools that are great for a cooling dip. Need a Recreation Pass? They’re available to members at no additional charge.
