SPOTLIGHT: MCI Check-In Survey

Fill out our MCI Check-In Survey!

This month we are asking partners to fill out this Check-In Survey to let us know how MCI implementation is going at your agency.

After Helene, we know there have been many challenges with facilities, internet connectivity, volunteer turnover, and more. We want to make sure your agency has all the tools it needs to be successful with MCI.

Please complete the survey by Wednesday, July 23rd.

MONTHLY FOCUS: Hot Weather Best Practices

As we get into true summer weather, be sure to take precautions that keep your neighbors and volunteers safe, and your devices functional during outdoor distributions.

Neighbor + Volunteer Safety

  • Set up a canopy or tent for shade.

  • Whenever possible, have water available. When outdoors for extended periods of time, you should aim to drink water consistently—at least 8 ounces every 20–30 minutes.

  • Rotate team members for regular cooling breaks indoors or in air-conditioned vehicles.

  • In the event of rain or extreme heat, you may consider using a sign in sheet for returning neighbors.

Volunteers can take down their name and other identifying info (Mountain Card #, DOB, etc.) to be back dated into MCI later. Whenever possible, get at least one additional piece of identifying information to avoid creating duplicates or assigning visits to the wrong neighbor.

New neighbors would still need to complete the full intake process.

Device Safety

  • Keep intake devices in the shade whenever possible to avoid over heating.

  • Ensure hotspot devices are in a shaded, well-ventilated spot to avoid overheating and loss of wireless connection.

  • Heat can cause batteries to drain quickly. Be sure your devices are fully charged and consider where you will access a plug if the need arises.

Tip: If a device powers down or gets overheated, you can also use a smart phone to complete intake. Just visit: network.neighborintake.org and enter your agency's access credentials. If not connected to wi-fi, data rates may apply.

Feeding America Feature Updates + Fixes

Coming Soon:

  • To enhance platform security, MCI will soon require Multi-Factor Authentication to complete a password reset, meaning users will need to have a valid phone number or email address. Users without a valid phone number or email address will still be able to request a password reset from admin users.
