New Episode: When Burnout Speaks
Welcome to Season 6 of Legal Well-Being in Action! For the start of our new season, we explore how burnout shows up for hard-working attorneys - often disguised as “normal stress” or simply part of the job. We discuss why burnout can persist even when commitment, competence and ethics remain intact. You’ll also learn why creative expression is an evidence-backed tool for nervous system regulation, especially for analytical, high-control professions. Finally, we share realistic, time-respectful ways busy attorneys can begin small creative practices that actually help. Thank you to this episode’s speakers, Pamela Moore and Virginia Hicks.

Counseling Awareness Month: Why Attorneys Struggle to Ask for Help
April is Counseling Awareness Month but for legal professionals, awareness isn’t just the issue. The profession demands constant composure under pressure, and that weight doesn’t stay at work. Outside the office, life continues—relationships, finances, family—and it all can compound.
The same self-reliance that makes legal professionals effective can make asking for help feel like weakness. Stigma in the legal field often shows up subtly: Burnout treated as normal, silence around emotional strain, and the belief that needing help means you’ve fallen short. Counseling isn’t a last resort: It’s a way to sustain the level of cognitive and emotional performance the profession demands.
