A Message from the Chairman:
Fellow Rangers –
First, I hope that this edition of the Ranger Checkpoint finds all of you doing extremely well.
This month, on October 4th, the foundation’s leadership had the opportunity to present three pavers removed from the Ranger Memorial to the Drummer Boy Museum in Andersonville, Georgia. In what was a first-class ceremony with participation of re-enactors from both sides of the Civil War, we presented Colonel John Mosby and the Bowman Brothers’ pavers to the museum for safekeeping and display for all to see. I want to thank the Drummer Boy Museum, the city of Andersonville and Sumter County, Georgia for hosting the foundation and the ceremony. Also, thanks to all those Rangers who came out to attend.
This month, we also welcome a new member of our Board of Directors, Mr. John Nethercutt. John spent his life serving our nation both in and out of uniform and we are excited to have him join the team. He will serve as your foundation’s treasurer moving forward.
It is great to see your foundation out and about working to further the cause of remembering and honoring all Rangers, past, present and future. In the last month, the foundation was present at the Maneuver Warfighting Conference and the AUSA Annual Meeting. If you know of any venues, celebrations, etc. where the Ranger Memorial Foundation can continue to tell our story, please reach out to us.
As always, when at or near FT Moore, please remember to stop by YOUR Ranger Memorial and see the improvements we continue to make.
As we operate solely on donations, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to support our mission and initiatives at National Ranger Memorial Foundation Donation. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for the Ranger community.
Rangers Lead the Way!
