"Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers is transformational.” - George Couros
Good afternoon,

I hope you are doing well and finding joy as we close out this school year.

We are so excited to be wrapping up our second year of providing ISTE Certification at Butler County ESC. This work is more relevant now than ever with our students learning in all different ways and our educators always using technology to enhance the learning. The ISTE certification gives purpose and focus to the use of technology in the classroom and promotes student-centered learning and global citizenship. The training is embedded with impactful pedagogical practice and provides a strong, personalized professional learning pathway. This micro-credentialing focuses on the ISTE student and teacher standards.

Butler County ESC is the only agency in the state that is a Certified Authorized Provider for ISTE. We have found the process to be truly transformative for teacher practice and want more districts in the region to take advantage of this opportunity.
ISTE has used feedback from the last two years and our move to virtual professional learning to create a new format for the ISTE Certification for Educators. The certification is fully online and allows for more support from the instructors while learners are working synchronously and asynchronously. You can use this link to see the scheduled meeting dates and asynchronous work schedule. More than 100 staff members from Lakota Local Schools and Middletown City Schools have already taken advantage of this exclusive opportunity to transform their practice.

We still have space in our June cohort and are offering 50% off to the first 10 Butler County educators who register. I hope you will consider participating!
Please share this with your fellow administrators and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Thank you,
Mary Snellgrove
