"Chine collé printmaking is a technique used in conjunction with printmaking processes such as etching by printmakers to create collages of thin Japanese paper onto a heavier paper support. Both the tissue and the support sheet are placed on top of the inked plate and run together through the printing press. Chine collé printmaking is often used to add a decorative element to a print or to add visual interest to an image. This technique can create stunning and unique prints that are both delicate and bold at the same time."
