Adult Christian Education

A new Bible study class on the book of Hebrews will begin on September 13.

The book, Hebrews: Access to God, will serve as our text and explain how the priests, the tabernacle, the Law, the sacrifices, and the entire Old Testament relate to Jesus. Hebrews unpacks the meaning of faith for people of God throughout history. The purpose of this class is to discuss questions about life, God and the Bible.

Led by volunteers, this class is open to everyone; you don't have to be a Bible expert. The format is informal discussion with a study guide. The class will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the C.C.N.S. preschool classroom.

OPW Rummage Sale: September 24-26

We don’t offer to clean, clear out or sweep up.

We can offer a place for unwanted stuff.

We’re doing the same at our houses, too.

Even the stuff we bought, last year,

From the sale we’ll give, too.

We can’t take furniture, tread mills and such.

Used car seats and highchairs are unsafe

and too much.

But, housewares, clothing, hand tools, and bedding, Christmas trees and decor,

But, not things that are shedding.

Your gifts matter to us, and as a church family,

We thank you for giving your gifts without hammily. (It’s a real word)

This fall, our congregation is embarking on an exciting interfaith learning journey alongside our neighbors at Beth Israel Congregation and Payne Chapel AME.

We kick off this journey on Friday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. as Beth Israel hosts us for Sukkot, the joyful Festival of Booths celebrating God’s protection and harvest. Space for Sukkot is limited to 15 people, so please be sure to register here to reserve your spot. Special Congregational Meeting

Immediately following worship on Sunday, September 20, the session has called a brief congregational meeting in the sanctuary to formally dissolve Pastor Marc's pastoral relationship with Oxford Presbyterian Church as he begins the next chapter of his ministry at Fairmont Presbyterian Church in Kettering.

We look forward to celebrating Pastor Marc and his faithful service with our church family!

Reception to Honor Pastor Marc

Join us Sunday, September 20, following the special congregational meeting for a reception to honor and thank Pastor Marc on his final Sunday with us. The reception will take place on the second floor of the Seminary building.

Donations are being accepted as a love offering for Pastor Marc, which will be presented to him at the celebration on September 20. Donations may be mailed to the church or placed in the collection plate. Please mark cash envelopes “Pastor Marc” or write “Pastor Marc” on the memo line of checks payable to OPC.

Cards and notes of appreciation may be placed in the collection plate, given to a member of the Christian Education Committee, or mailed to the church c/o Candace.

Save the date and

plan to join us!

Save the Date: Baking Adventure

Calling all master bakers, curious beginners, and anyone who loves a warm slice of fresh bread! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a hands-on bread baking lab with Pastor Lawrence and OPC friends.

Designed for everyone ages 5 to 105, this intergenerational gathering at the Seminary will explore the simple ingredients that come together to create something extraordinary. Together, we’ll bake the fresh bread to be shared in worship the following morning for World Communion Sunday, enjoy plenty of delicious taste-testing, and celebrate Jesus as the Bread of Life.

A Call for Leaders

A key practice in the Presbyterian Church is to nominate and elect ruling elders, deacons, and trustees who lead us in bringing the mission of Christ’s church to life. The nominating committee seeks your recommendation for our next class of Oxford Presbyterian Church officers. Prayerfully consider active members of our church who are engaged, committed, and eager to serve as leaders in our mutual ministry. Please contact the office with your nominations for our future leaders.

Here I am, Lord? Is it I, Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night.

I will go, Lord, if you lead me.

I will hold your people in my heart.

We are excited

and looking forward

to the

2026-2027

school year!
