A letter from the president and CEO of the Marshall University Foundation

Dear Marshall Alumni and Friends,

As we get ready to welcome students back to campus and begin another academic year, I have been thinking a lot about the momentum surrounding Marshall, and more importantly, the people who make that momentum possible. That certainly includes all of you.

We closed the fiscal year with nearly $36 million in gifts and commitments to Marshall University, another tremendous year of support for our students, faculty, programs and priorities. We also saw growth in the number of donors supporting Marshall, which is especially meaningful to me. More people are choosing to invest in this university and in its future. Thank you.

Whether you made a gift, came back to campus, attended an alumni event, volunteered your time, connected with a student, cheered on the Herd from near or far, or simply stayed engaged with Marshall, you are an important part of what makes this university so special.

And there is plenty to look forward to this fall.

On Sept. 5, we are heading to State College for the Marshall-Penn State football game, and we will host a pregame tailgate in partnership with the Big Green. More information can be found below. If you are making the trip, I hope you will join us. There is nothing quite like being surrounded by the Marshall family on the road.

Closer to home, please save the date for Homecoming Week beginning Sept. 21. Homecoming is always one of my favorite times of the year, and we are looking forward to welcoming alumni and friends back to Huntington to reconnect, celebrate and spend some time together.

There is a great deal happening at Marshall, and I continue to be incredibly grateful for the pride, loyalty and generosity of our alumni and friends.

Thank you for believing in Marshall, and thank you for being part of where we are headed.

Staci and I hope to see you this fall.

All my best, and Go Herd!

Nico
