Library News
The school year is fully in swing! Some benchmarks to be proud of so far: over 16 thousand student visits (including individual visits and class visits), with roughly 2,845 students taught by the librarian, and 180 student sign ins per day, the library is always busy. Featured classes the past 2 weeks are: Sociology is conducting data analysis from their survey results, AP Seminar looked at using defined subject terms for more efficient research using databases, and US History classes are getting lessons on design and technology using Canva to represent what they have learned about the 1920s and sharing with the class through discussion boards on Canvas. In the past 2 weeks, Ms. Carpenter has taught 22 classes and visited with 6 PLCs to see how the library can enhance their instruction.

Early Dismissal from School
All students must check out with Ms. Espadas in the Attendance Office located in the Main Office before leaving school during the school day. Parents must also come in to check their students out, and they must present a valid ID that matches information in PowerSchool/HISD Connect. The main office will then request the student from class.
3:00 PM is the cut-off time to pick a student up early for the day. Parents arriving after 3:00 PM cannot have their student called down to the attendance office. If a student needs to be picked up early, they must be picked up before 3:00 PM.
When absent, students should turn in an excuse note (doctor’s, parent, etc…) to Ms. Espadas for filing. As a reminder, a minimum attendance requirement of 90% in each class is required to award course credit.

See Something, Say Something: Keeping Our School Safe Together
We want to remind our community about the See Something, Say Something app—an essential tool to help maintain a secure environment. This app allows students, staff, and parents to report any suspicious activity, concerns, or potential threats anonymously.
By speaking up and working together, we can prevent issues before they escalate, ensuring that Bellaire High School remains a safe place for learning and growth. Remember, if you see something that doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate—report it here. Together, we can make a difference!
