Vice Mayoral Run-off Election
2020 Run-off Election
According to the unofficial cumulative results provided by the Miami-Dade County Election for the General Election, the race of Vice Mayor did not receive a number of votes greater than 50% of the total ballots cast. Therefore, Palmetto Bay will hold a Run-off Election for the Vice Mayor post.

The Run-off Election is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 2020. A link to the sample ballot is available on our website.

Vote-by-Mail ballots for the Run-Off Election will be mailed out by the Miami-Dade Elections Department on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 and must be in the possession of the Elections Department by 7 PM on election day. There is no early voting for the Run-off Election.

Additionally, we are advising residents that due to COVID-19 restrictions, the County's Elections Department has confirmed that a drop-off box for Vote-by-Mail Ballots will not be permitted at Village Hall for the Run-Off Election.

The list of precincts for the Run-Off has not yet been provided by Miami-Dade Elections, but will be posted on our webpage as soon as it is received.

Palmetto Bay General Election

2020 General Election
This past November 3rd, Palmetto Bay residents had the opportunity to elect a Vice Mayor and a Councilmember for Seat 2. Village residents also voted on several Charter Amendments proffered by the Charter Review Commission, a group of volunteer residents appointed by each Councilmember to review the Village Charter and identify amendments for voter consideration during the General Election.

As previously indicated, the Vice Mayor race will go to a run-off election on December 1. Candidate Steve Cody received more than 50% of the votes cast for Councilmember Seat 2. We congratulate Mr. Cody as the new member of the Village Council!

The unofficial results of the election will be provided by Miami-Dade County on Friday, November 6, 2020 and the official results signed by County Judges become available on Friday, November 13, 2020 once all provisional ballots are accounted for.

The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected officials will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 prior to the Regular Council Meeting. More information to follow.
