Good afternoon everyone,
The rain is over and the sun is shining all across the Root-Pike Basin.
What a great day to welcome Shelby Serritella as Root-Pike WIN's new Program Manager for watershed education and action. Shelby will lead Root-Pike WIN's Respect Our Waters program, the Kenosha Regenerative Producers Group, the Stormwater Pond Playbook instruction, and other educational and policy initiatives.
Shelby brings a strong blend of environmental project management, community outreach, and academic excellence, most recently serving as an Account Manager with ILM Environments where she coordinated complex natural area restoration projects and supported more than 160 clients across multiple states. Her background includes environmental education work with the City of Lake Forest, large-scale event coordination, and award-winning sustainability outreach.
Shelby holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, graduating as a Chancellor's Scholar with Highest Distinction, and has completed her M.S. in Environmental Science & Sustainability at Loyola University Chicago with an emphasis in Environmental Law and Policy. Shelby is a graduate of Westosha Central High School. Her experience, leadership, local knowledge, and passion for watershed health make her an outstanding addition to our team.
In her spare time, you can find Shelby on the volleyball court, hiking trails in remote places, and in the kitchen making her grandmother's favorite recipes.
Please join us in welcoming Shelby to Root-Pike WIN!
