Lee Claremont in her studio

Dear Friends of Indigena,

We are delighted to showcase a collection of paintings by Mohawk artist Lee Claremont. With over 40 years of success in contemporary art, Lee transcends the role of an Indigenous artist to become a masterful visual storyteller. Her profound grasp of composition and the expressive power of colour make her work truly exceptional.

Lee views art as a powerful medium for expressing cultural and spiritual beliefs. Her painting, "Grandmother's Wisdom" was featured in "The Honour Project," a National Indigenous Billboard Campaign , and her work has also been prominently displayed in the "Artists Against Racism" public art campaign.

Her journey has been marked by many twists and turns, yet she has consistently found solace in her vibrant artistic creations. We invite you to explore and enjoy the collection of Lee Claremont’s work featured below.

Sincerely,

Erla, Doug and Patti

"With few natural predators, impressive IQ's, the ability to fly up to 100 miles a day and reach speeds of up to 48 miles per hour, coming back as a raven wouldn't be so bad..."

-From The Book of the Raven: Corvids in Art & Legend

How appropriate are the titles of these paintings. Lee has captured both the intelligence and mischief of the ravens.
