Hello everybody!
Jesus Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Jesus is alive in our community and both draws us in and sends us out to share his life. In a special way, we encounter him in the Eucharist and this past weekend 83 of our children celebrated their first communion. Congratulations to them and to their families on this important step in each of their faith journeys. It was a joy to be with them!
This coming weekend, as we celebrate Good Shepherd Sunday (the fourth Sunday of Easter), the church prays for vocations to the ordained, religious, consecrated, and missionary vocations. Please join me in asking for the “master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Matthew 9:38). It is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. May each of us listen to Gods voice.
Please remember that our stewardship renewal for 2023/24 is coming to an end. My thanks to those who have prayerfully engaged with the process and returned their stewardship renewal forms. If you haven’t done so, I encourage you to enter into prayer, listen to where God may be calling you, and return your forms by this Sunday, April 30. This is a great time and tool to help us as we try to take the next best step in each of our journeys with Jesus and seek, with the help of God’s grace, to become the best version of ourselves. Thanks!
May we all listen for the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow where he leads.
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
