New Year, New Life

With the new year well underway, we wanted to share a special cat who found a fresh start for 2025!

At 9 years old, Mr. Ratz, now named Posha, had been through a lot. After the passing of his owner, he found himself at a shelter. His owner's family didn’t want him, so for two long months, he waited, hoping for a new home. But despite his patience, no one came for him—until we learned about his story, and he found his way to JSCR.

Upon his arrival, we quickly discovered Posha had blood in his urine which needed immediate veterinary intervention. He was treated for a urinary tract infection, healed, and was ready for his next big step. This is when we discovered Posha was shy and had a strong aversion towards other cats, which would make finding the right home extra challenging.

Enter Wilson, a kind and thoughtful man who had reached out to us looking to adopt a senior male cat. He wanted a companion and didn’t have other cats. Talk about serendipitous! We took Posha to meet Wilson, and to our surprise, Posha didn’t hide as we’d expect a shy cat to. Instead, he started to explore his new home. Just like that we knew, Posha had found his perfect match.

Together, these two dignified bachelors are relishing their time together. We couldn’t be happier for Posha and Wilson as they begin this new chapter. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh starts, and the joy of seeing our senior cats find their forever homes.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission, giving cats like Posha the chance to begin anew!

With joy and gratitude,
