Roosevelt University Celebrates RISE Expansion

undefined

The Village of Schaumburg and Roosevelt University recently celebrated the expansion of the Roosevelt Incubator for Schaumburg Enterprises (RISE), a business incubator designed to help local entrepreneurs and small business owners launch, grow, and sustain their businesses.

The Village initially invested $54,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to help establish the incubator last year and marked the expansion with an additional $10,000 contribution this year to support the program's continued growth. The investment reflects the village's ongoing commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, encouraging innovation, and strengthening the local economy.

Located at Roosevelt University's Schaumburg campus, RISE provides participants with affordable workspace, access to a makerspace, photo and podcast studios, research assistance from student interns, and connections to experienced business mentors and community partners. The program is available to entrepreneurs throughout the university's Schaumburg service area, with opportunities for both income-qualified participants and others seeking to grow their businesses.

The Economic Development Department also presented $30,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Microenterprise Grant funding to four businesses participating in the Roosevelt Incubator for Schaumburg Enterprises (RISE) program. The Microenterprise Grant Program provides financial assistance to eligible microenterprises to support business stabilization, expansion, entrepreneurship, and job creation. Congratulations to this year’s grant recipients, JG Good Corporation, Yam Global Travel, American Development Partners, and AAP In-Home Care on receiving this funding and their continued commitment to growing their businesses in Schaumburg!

Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the RISE program can learn more and apply at the RISE website.
