Activists, apply to be a participant in  the Women's Peace Initiative

Dear WILPFers,

This is an exciting time! Yes, much good news to celebrate (Sunrise movement bringing a sunny hope for recovery, multiple wymmin among Presidential candidates, the umpteenth Wymmin's March, etc.).

And here I announce a special opportunity for US WILPFers: apply to be one of our five delegates to a new peace collaborative: The Women's Peace Initiative (WPI)! (I serious-playfully spell it wymmin's, but enough for now).

Amidst the daily news of militarism and wars, the WPI is a powerful contrast!

Please look over the criteria and other WPI details, and then extend this leadership opportunity to more members: Spread the word in your branch and/or area!

Both newer activists in WILPF and experienced WILPFers can qualify to be participants in this collaboration-focused initiative and  WILPF delegat ion to the conference in San Francisco. We  have some funds to cover travel and accommodations, thanks to our fiscal sponsor, the Peace Development Fund.

To initiate the WPI, the Peace Development Fund has invited  WILPF US and two other groups to a one-day conference on March 22, for delegates  to connect, network, and learn with each other. Qualifying WILPF activists should request the application NOW ! Apply by the February 3, 2019 deadline.

Like the women speaking up in Africa, in Accra -- with visions, dreams, and projects amidst the horror movies acted out around them -- let us rise to this occasion, preparing for building peace.

Yours, in the first month of a different New Year!  Darien

Apply by February 3 deadline!
