Camarillo, CA – On October 22, 2026, Camarillo Mayor David Tennessen delivered the State of the City to an audience of 200 at the Commemorative Air Force Southern California Wing at the Camarillo Airport.

Centered on the theme, “The Heart of Camarillo,” the presentation recognized the people, partnerships, and thoughtful planning that continue to move the community forward. Mayor Tennessen highlighted progress and ongoing work in public safety, infrastructure, water reliability, transportation, economic development, community services, and the Camarillo 2050 General Plan Update.

A central focus of the presentation was the dedicated City employees whose work supports residents each day, whether maintaining streets and public facilities, delivering essential water and wastewater services, processing permits, supporting public meetings, responding to questions, or helping local businesses grow.

“City employees are at the heart of that work,” Mayor Tennessen said. “They turn plans into progress, questions into answers, and challenges into solutions.”

The Mayor also reflected on Camarillo’s strong public safety partnerships, responsible financial practices, engaged residents, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and the shared commitment to preserving the quality of life that makes Camarillo a welcoming, resilient, and connected community.

A video recording of the State of the City presentation is now available on the City’s YouTube channel: youtube.com/TheCityofCamarillo.

The event was presented in partnership by the City of Camarillo and the West Ventura County Business Alliance.
