Welcome to OICMF Scherzo (skert·sō/ noun: a vigorous, light, or playful composition) The monthly newsletter of the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival

Great Young Pianists Over the years, the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival has welcomed and enjoyed a great number of students from the Rice University Piano Studio of Professor Jon Kimura Parker (or Jackie, as we know him) as performers both during the Festival and at concerts throughout the year, such as: Scott Cuellar (Festival 2018, Salon Concerts 2016, 2018) Yurie Farnsworth (Festival 2019) Artem Kuznetsov (Festival 2019, Leaves of Gold 2018) Andrew Staupe (Festivals 2010, 2017, Leaves of Gold 2011, Salon Concert 2012) Viktor Valkov (Festivals 2013, 2015, 2021, Leaves of Gold 2013)   On Wednesday, March 2, at 6:00pm PT, you can livestream a recital featuring his current students – we all know that means we’ll be seeing a lot of extraordinary young talent. You can view it all by clicking here at show time.
