Greetings!
Opening our doors in 2020, we did not have a 'normal'. We have done our best to make adjustments operationally as we are learning what the post COVID world will look like. Post(ish) COVID19 is here and we are feeling it's impact in many aspects of our consumer lives. At this point, we really do not know the long term effects, however we know we need to make changes now for our teams and for our pet parents.
Solution to Operational Challenges:
In order to retain and recruit the best of the best, we have increased our starting pay rates, increased pay for our current team and are offering more benefits to allow the team to earn more throughout the year. At the end of the day, your pups deserve the best and we intend to keep the bar raised high!
We worked diligently to backfill open positions. With the increase in starting pay and added benefits, we saw more resumes coming in with high quality candidates that fit our roles. It worked! We also improved our new employee training program to get our team members onboarded quickly, but safely!
Operations Improvements You Have Seen:
Our goal was to be 100% back to full staffing and scheduling to support all aspects of operations by the first of August. You will see new faces to front desk, rover, and canine coaches to support three rooms daily.
You will also see new doggies joining the Dogtopia family! Dog adoption was unprecedented in 2020 and those pups are looking for their daycare home. Daycares closing, pet parents going back to work outside of the home, and schools being in person again we have an increase in reservations to reserve three rooms to capacity.
How does this impact staffing? Simply put, an increase in dogs in daycare = an increase in daily staffing hours.
What It Means for Our Pet Parents:
To continue the highest quality of standards and safety for your pups, we are making adjustments to our daycare pricing for 2022, that will take effect October of 2021 (Qtr.4).
Our goal is to adjust daycare pricing for the remainder of 2021 with the hopes to maintain the same pricing throughout all of 2022. The increase is at a level that is minimal to our pet parents, with just a few extra dollars, but across the board it will go along way in offering the best for the team that cares for the pups!
