Boys Water Polo

Highlights from Head Coach Jenna Frazer
“Bellevue Water Polo went 3 for 3 in Saturdays Division 1 Jamboree (non-league half games) beating Newport 7-0, Mercer Island 7-2, and Kennedy Catholic 8-7.
Our first league game is on Wednesday September 10th at Mercer Island at 8:00pm. We really want to get a bigger student section at our games, especially this one since it is a rivalry game hosted by MI and they will definitely have students show up.”
Marching Band
Highlights shared by Co-Head Band Director Edd George
“The marching band is the largest it has been in recent memory (maybe ever?) and put on great performances at the Friday pep assembly and football game. The band was joined by the Dance team and Cheerleaders at halftime for a great and spirited performance! The band is led by drum majors Carmen Aguado-Scheyer, Sophia Xu and Olie Peterson.”

Season Record 1-0
For Reylen Witherspoon, Friday night was a year in the making. Since suffering a devastating knee injury against Lake Stevens last season, the senior running back was finally able to take the field during Bellevue’s 35-14 season-opening win over Bethel.
“Man, it felt great out there,” Witherspoon said. “I can't even explain it. I've just been excited. I felt the joy all week to get back out here with my guys. First Bellevue home game, the atmosphere was great, family pulled up, I had a great time.”
Witherspoon was limited to just 20 plays in the game, but they were as meaningful as any snaps he’s ever taken.
“I told the guys in the locker room before the game that this is a magical moment,” Bellevue coach Michael Kneip said. “The adversity he faced … sometimes you don't see guys come back at all, let alone in less than a year. And with such a positive attitude, it just shows you all the work he did behind closed doors to get to this point.”
IT’S GREAT TO BE A WOLVERINE!!!
