Yes for the Caboose!
And mail carts

Considering the money wasted (IMO) with the bike lane construction on Esperanza in between Fairmont and Imperial Hwy I have no problem saving and restoring a bit of history..
The Left seems to enjoy removing history from history they don't like.

I am now aware of the caboose and mail carts and promises made.
I think the city should take it upon themselves to restore and utilize both in a number of ways such as for weddings, birthday parties, scout meetings, Parks and Rec historical adventures, etc. Make it something to be proud of when you enter our city.
I'm embarrassed that the city let this happen and I think we should be thankful for the gifts.
We need to find items to replace those stolen, replace the broken windows and paint the caboose. Our city knows how to restore and protect.
Where's the sign?

Oh, my gosh! The caboose and the mail carts! Why doesn’t the city do what it promised to do? We should let them know!
I’m all for saving them!

Many towns across the country take great pride in saving old RR train cars especially cabooses. They are on display in city parks, at old restored RR stations and other public access locations. The caboose is a great symbol of our RR history and many towns would love to have YL's caboose for display.

The City of YL is committed to preserving the caboose and should take steps to restore the caboose back to its original look. The city, by letting the caboose self-destruct, shows city management's attitude regarding saving a one of kind historical piece.

This lack of care by city staff reflects on YL residents and makes it appear that the residents don't care. The caboose needs immediate restoration by contractor professionals who restore historic RR equipment.

The city should set up citizen volunteer program to help. The caboose was purposely placed near the Polly's Pies building because it's the old YL RR station
The caboose and site should be made accessible for up close viewing and "touching"...kids would enjoy!!!

Restore The Caboose!

I am familiar with a plaque that was presented from the city to accept and take care of the caboose and mail carts. What action will the city take to uphold their agreement?
It's one of the first things you see when you enter the heart of Yorba Linda and the city has allowed it to become an eyesore. I am totally disgusted by this. I think the city should honor their commitment and do what they agreed to do.
