WSSC Water Assists Federal Workers Impacted by Government Shutdown

Effective immediately, WSSC Water is:

  • Temporarily suspending water service turnoffs for customers directly impacted by the shutdown;
  • Waiving late fees to ease financial pressure for affected federal workers; and
  • Extending enrollment in the popular Get Current program through November 30. The assistance program helps eligible customers with a delinquent balance as of June 1, 2025, by offering forgiveness of a portion of the balance.

WSSC Water is committed to going the extra mile to support federal employees and others in our community who are facing economic challenges. In fact, our current budget includes nearly $9 million in assistance to help protect income-constrained customers – a 14 percent increase over last year.

Recreational Water Contact Health Advisory Remains For Triadelphia Reservoir

Due to the continued presence of Harmful Algal Blooms, the Water Contact Health Advisory for the Triadelphia Reservoir remains in effect. While our drinking water is not affected and continues to meet all Safe Drinking Water Act standards, there are important precautions people should take while spending time around the reservoir.
