G reetings from Avoca, New York, where we have our October Auctions loaded and ready to view. We will have 501 Lots ending on October 6th and another 401 Lots ending on October 7th. Follow the links below to view the items in the auction.

Today's Photo Montage begins shows some of the many great tools that will be sold on October 7th.

If you are not currently registered to bid in our auctions, you can register to bid by clicking HERE.

We have the First Tuesday and First Wednesday Auctions for October fully loaded and bidding is now underway. You can view the auction and enter bids beginning now and continuing until October 6, 2026 & October 7, 2026. On the last day of the sale, two lots will close and be marked as sold each minute beginning at 7:01 P.M. on each ending day and continuing until all are sold. Bidding will be open on both auctions until bidding closes as the lots begin selling at 7:01 PM on each night of the sale. You can keep bidding until the item is marked as sold. In the event that there is an increase in the bid in the last two minutes before an items sells, it will be extended for two minutes, unless the high bid amount increases again, at which point it will extend for another two minutes.

Today's Featured Tool Description
Richards Tool Co./15 Court Sq., B : "The Boston Time Saving" Wrench. Pat. Dec. 6, 1904. Rare & Excellent. Length: 12.00 Inches. An example of "THE BOSTON TIME SAVING" WRENCH by the Richards Tool Company, 15 Court Square, Boston, Massachusetts. This mechanically complex wrench, which has a twist-handle mechanism to allow the upper jaw to travel freely or lock it in place, was patented on December 6, 1904 by J.E. Richards and H.H. Muggley, both of Boston, Massachusetts. A review of trade periodicals in the period around the time of the issuance of the Patent indicates that the Company did extensive advertising as the Richards Tool Company and shortly thereafter changed their name to the Boston Time Saving Wrench Company. The shaft is graduated 1/16 inch increment to allow precise adjustment of the jaw. If the dearth of surviving examples is any indication, these wrenches were not well received by the market. The machining of the adjustment mechanism is as complex as we have observed on any wrench. This wrench is not shown in the Schulz book on Antique & Unusual Wrenches and we are unaware of any example ever having been offered for sale. An extremely rare wrench in top collector quality condition. (FINE). This item was sold on September 19, 2015 for $1,900.00. jpg_file

jpg_file Lot 399. An ARTFULLY CRAFTED MAPLE BODY WORKBENCH by C. Christiansen & Son, Chicago, Illinois. This "manual training" bench has dual working vises, a series of holes for holding iron or wooden "dogs" to secure work against either the head or tail vise, three original drawers and a hinged storage compartment. A great working bench in ready to use condition. From the Collection of the late Roger Semplak, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. (FINE).(300.00 - 600.00) Length: 7 Inches.
