IMS Presents: Haphazardly

The mean Princess Cinnamon (Kinsley Seitz, 6th grade), the not-so-bright Princess Peppermint (Maddy Percaciante, 8th grade), the vain Prince Hairgel (Freddy Averre, 7th grade), and the aptly named Prince Slacker (Liam Polter, 7th grade) are obnoxious, bratty adult children who do not live up to their royal titles — and they still live at home! King Barnabas (Alexander Jaworske, 8th grade) and Queen Mildred (Emilia Mikolic, 8th grade) try everything to help their children grow up and move out, but nothing seems to work. After hiring a therapist, bringing in teachers, and even trying to marry off their children, the king and queen are ready for a happily-ever-after that doesn’t involve their children living at home. They call upon a fairy godmother to help quiet the castle. But who knew hiring a fairy godmother came at such a ridiculous price? And the permits required are outrageous! The King and Queen decide to create a do-it-yourself fairy tale... and chaos abounds! Nothing goes as planned and musical, comical, royal chaos ensues. But despite the King and Queen’s DIY failure, the princes and princesses just might have been changed for the better.

The performances are on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, 7 p.m. in the middle school auditorium. Tickets are $8 at the door.

Seventy awesome IMS students make up this cast! Directed and Music Directed by Gretchen Obrovac, Choreographed by Rebecca Justice. A huge shoutout to the dozens of amazing parent volunteers.

Eighth-Grade All-Pro Parent Breakfast

All eighth-grade parents and students are invited to an All-Pro Parent breakfast in the IMS cafeteria on Friday, December 20th, from 7:15 to 7:40 a.m. The All-Pro breakfast includes a message for both parent and child to take away. This is a FREE event for all.

Boy's Basketball

There will be boys basketball open gyms on Tuesdays for the month of November starting Tuesday the 12th from 6:00-730PM at the middle school. These open gyms are for any seventh and eighth grade boy who is interested in playing basketball this year.

Jr. Biology Society

After listening to a briefing from an expert in the future of farming, young horticulturalists in Junior Biology Society got to work last week setting up the Fork Farms hydroponics system in the cafeteria. Over the next few weeks, the students will grow spinach, lettuce, herbs, and other greens to be used in cafeteria lunches - all the while learning how this technology can feed the world and preserve natural resources.

7th-Grade Science

Students in Mrs. Vincz's 7th-grade science class used their inquiry skills to try and balance a simulated ecosystem. The young biologists toggled with populations of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores to try and ensure the survival of all species over the period of 100 days. As they discovered, ecosystems are delicate and require a specific system of checks and balances for them to have thriving biodiversity.

Gamer Squad

This week, Officer Belin participated in the IMS Gamer Squad Super Smash Brothers tournament against some of our middle school students. The first round was against 5th graders Andrew Grzincic and Bobby Lewis. Round two was against 7th graders Cameron Bauman and Nathan Bakai. After the fight, other 7th graders joined in for a few rounds of games.

This Friday is our semi final match between Officer Belin and either Aubrey Volk or Sam Tighe.
