Hello Business,

This week we conclude the Bread of Life discourse. We are shown again that we have been offered free will as one of God's greatest gifts. Jesus acknowledges that His words are difficult to hear; however with Peter's example we know that the way to follow is by choosing to say that we believe. This offering of free will is given to us by the grace of God and, because of it, each of us is able to set our own path in this life toward eternal life.

Faith Formation Registration
Grief Share Information & Registration
Dear Possible Pilgrim,
We are set to go! All of the arrangements have been made by Catholic Travel Centre and we are ready for people to register for this pilgrimage. There will be space for a maximum of 46 pilgrims on this journey to some of the holiest sites in Ireland.
Please access the link below which will take you to the necessary paperwork for registering for this pilgrimage. Each pilgrim is responsible for arranging for airline travel to Dublin. We will meet our guide at the Dublin airport at Noon on May 13. Personally, I am scheduled on Delta flight #2175 from Portland to Dublin, leaving at 1:25 pm, on Monday, May 12, stopping at MPLS-ST PAUL, and then arriving in Dublin at 10:45 am on May 13. That is just one example. There are a number of flights from Portland to Dublin.

A Message from The Archbishop

I have been your archbishop here in Western Oregon for 11 years now, and I want you to know that through much consultation, a lot of listening, but more importantly, a lot of prayer, I believe the Lord has put on my heart a clear vision and mission forward for us here as the church in Western Oregon.

And it centers around three things:

1.      a strong and united brotherhood of priests,

2.      mission-passionate Catholic education, and

3.      parishes and a people formed to evangelize.

The Archbishop's Catholic appeal helps make this Vision a reality.

By giving to the ACA you have a direct impact on our priests, schools, parishes, and all the vital programs and ministries that we all depend upon to sustain the Catholic Church in Western Oregon for today and for future generations.

-Archbishop Alexander K. Sample

***We would like to thank the 91 donors from Resurrection, who have contributed to the Archbishops Catholic Appeal. Your support is appreciated.***

Archbishops Catholic Appeal

We are grateful for all the projects that took place, and are still going on here in the parish:

  • Our camera system has been upgraded to have more cameras on campus, and cover the gym.
  • We were blessed to be able to get the office parking lot resurfaced, and fixed.
  • Thank you for your generosity, it allowed us to clean the windows on the church building.
  • The new handrails were installed by the Hall back deck, to enhance safety.

For us to do all the mentioned projects, and be able to keep our campus safe and welcoming is a team effort.

Thank you for being a huge part of that team.

We have two exciting new options for donating to the parish and a new opportunity for helping with credit card transaction fees.

WeShare has enabled people to make payments using PayPal for their scheduled donations.

Apple Pay is an option for the one-time payment donations.

WeShare is now providing the donor with the option to increase the donation amount to cover the credit card costs for any charges that are incurred through the transaction process. We already have 8% of participants opting in to help cover these costs. We thank you for all the help!

Saint Vincent de Paul Mission Statement:

A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with, and service to, people in need.

If this seems like something you would like to be part of, join us.

Our next meeting will be September 8th. More information in future Connection issues.

In July we made deliveries to 10 families, 55 people. We paid $2,700 toward rent and utilities for 126 households, and 42 people.

Brothers in Christ. Knights of Columbus Council 13851 is honored to assist Resurrection Parish and our Pastor, Father Bill Moisant, when the need arises! We do more than cook for several dinners over the year, although we do enjoy providing good food and fun to our Parish family.

All good works we do are guided by our four core principles:  Charity,  Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism…with Charity being our main focus.

Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Knights recognize that our mission and our faith in God compel us to charitable action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need—a call we answer every day.

Good men of our Parish: We can do so much more with your help! Please consider joining us by sharing your talents through helping us on our mission to do good works as Brothers in Christ. Sign up at www.kofc.org/joinus or scan the QR code below.

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you reach age 72.

If you are over 72 years of age you qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

We thank you in advance for considering Resurrection Catholic Church and School as recipients of your donations.
