Happy New Year YPA,
We hope that everyone has enjoyed the break and feels refreshed and ready to start the second semester on Tuesday, January 4th. As you may have noticed, with this newest variant of the COVID virus, cases and quarantines are spiking again. As with earlier in the school year, we are focused on the safe attendance of all of our students at school so that they can learn. At this time, we are taking the following measures as we come back from the holidays:
1) We are requesting that all students and staff wear masks for the first two weeks back from vacation. Students who may be exposed but who are wearing masks themselves will NOT need to quarantine.
2) Continue to be aware of your child's health and do not bring them to school if they have symptoms or if they have been advised by DHEC to be quarantined.
3) For those who would like to test before returning to school, we are hosting an on-site testing station on Monday, January 3rd from 9:00-11:00 am at the Student Union drop-off lane. We will continue to offer testing on Mondays and Thursdays on-campus. All York Prep students and staff are eligible to be tested, but we are unable to test family members who do not attend York Prep.
4) Quarantine guidelines from the CDC and DHEC have been updated as of December 27th. (Guideline Link)
Care and caution over the next few weeks by all involved can help us to avoid spikes at school that could lead us to quarantine numbers above 10%.
Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you soon,
York Prep Administration
